Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With Strings…

These are a few of my favorite things.

Glossier is a skincare and makeup brand that focuses on “real girls in real life.” Captivating millions (myself included, duh) with millennial pink packaging and stick-everywhere sticker sheets, Glossier carries an always expanding collection of simple skincare and minimalistic makeup products that are anything but basic. A majority of the items they sell have easily become staple, every day tools in my day-to-day life. Pictured above is Glossier’s (Rose) Balm Dotcom; a “skin salve” that repairs and hydrates chapped lips like no other. With ingredients like lanolin, beeswax and castor seed oil, Balm Dotcom is heavy on the moisture without being heavy on the lips. Flavors include; Original (unscented), Cherry (red tint), Coconut, Mint, Rose (pink tint) & Birthday (a tad bit of shimmer, in collaboration with Milk Bar inspired by their famous birthday cake.) I keep one in my purse, my office desk, my nightstand, my bathroom…..I’m sure the list would be shorter if I told you all the places I don’t keep a Balm Dotcom. Single tubes go for $12, and Balm Trios go for $30. My bff link will save you 10% and theres always free shipping over $30!

_The Glass Castle

The Glass Castle is a memoir written by Jeanette Walls that reflects on her struggle of a childhood that unfolds into her guiltily privileged adulthood. The story follows herself along with her 3 siblings and their flawed parents making their way through town after town tackling hunger, poverty and fraud.  My copy of The Glass Castle (pictured above) is around 12 years old and has been read and then re-read time and time again. My copy has also been shared with other people who wound up falling in love with my favorite book themselves as well and purchased copies of their own. This book continuously teaches me so many things about life and about myself, that I catch every time I explore it again. A story that truly makes you feel emotion and will impress you with how relatable it is between the lines. I think that everyone needs to read this book at least once. At Barnes & Noble, a paperback copy will set you back $11.20 and a hardcover goes for $18.89! (The only downside to this is it will have the new motion picture cover instead of the original memoir cover. Amazon still has the memoir cover I believe. I will link both!)

_Zenni Optical

Zenni Optical is an online store with a large (and expanding!) collection of prescription glasses and sunglasses that won’t break the bank. I don’t even bother buying glasses from my actual optometrist anymore because the style of frames that Zenni offers is unbeatable when you factor in the affordable prices. I have an increasing collection of glasses from them, eleven pairs to be specific, that I switch in and out depending on outfit and mood. The pair pictured above are style #1125214 and are priced at $27.95. That pays for the frames, your prescription lenses, a case + cleaning cloth. Anti scratch and anti reflection are around $5 more, but are worth it! I’ve never spent more than $35-$40 on a pair of glasses and I love them all. As routine goes, I will link the website below.

So there you have it, just a FEW of my favorite things.
